A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIR

October 18, 2025

Greetings Fellow Republicans,

The time to is VOTE is NOW! Go to the Board of Elections at 2401 Pleasant Valley Road or the old courthouse at 28 East Market Street and vote in person. The BOE staff do a fantastic job and will assist you in getting your vote cast.

This election is so important for Pennsylvania. It’s our chance to send three state supreme court judges packing, Judges Donohue, Dougherty and Wecht. You must vote NO, otherwise the Democrats will control the PA Supreme Court through 2035! Also vote NO for Superior Court Judge Dubow and Commonwealth Court Judge Wojick.

Conversely, vote for Republican Superior Court candidate Maria Batista and Republican Commonwealth Court candidate Matt Wofford against their Democrat opponents, and vote YES for retention of our fine local Court of Common Pleas Judges, Adams, Flannelly and Menges. Lastly, vote for our two, new York County Court of Common Pleas candidates, Ferro and Minnich.

Our York Couty row office candidates also need your vote, Tim Barker for DA, Greg Bower for Controller, Laura Shue for Recorder of Deeds and Tania Zech for Coroner.

Lastly, be sure to support your Republican school board candidates, township supervisor and borough council candidates.

The YCRC is doing its part. We have printed and distributed 30,000 Vote No on Retention palm cards and mailed reminders to 20,000 York County Republican 2024 mail-in-ballot voters to vote by mail for this 2025 election. Also, you might hear our radio ads on local stations encouraging early voting at the Board of Elections.

Turnout is everything! Tell your family members, your friends and co-workers to VOTE NOW and VOTE NO! and send those LOCKDOWN Democrat Supreme Court judges off to retirement.

Douglas George, YCRC Chair

PA News Clips from October...

Our interview with Stacy Garrity - Broad + Liberty

10/09/2025

State Treasurer Stacy Garrity used her interview with Broad + Liberty to draw sharp contrasts with Governor Josh Shapiro ahead of their expected 2026 gubernatorial matchup, framing herself as a fiscal conservative and outsider committed to accountability and economic growth. Garrity criticized the ongoing budget impasse as the “Shapiro shutdown,” arguing that the governor has failed to lead and should be in Harrisburg negotiating rather than on TV or at football games. She highlighted her record of returning over $1 billion in unclaimed property, expanding savings programs, and launching the Treasury’s bridge loan initiative to help counties and service providers during the stalemate. Garrity also accused Shapiro of fiscal irresponsibility, citing his proposal to spend billions beyond revenue projections, and pledged to balance budgets without raising taxes by unleashing Pennsylvania’s natural gas industry and cutting red tape to attract jobs. On education, she blasted declining test scores despite record funding and reaffirmed her support for school choice, saying parents, not bureaucrats, should control their children’s education. Emphasizing her private sector and military background, Garrity said she would run government like a business, keep spending in check, and fight to open up Pennsylvania for business again.

Pennsylvania attorney general addresses Iron Hill Brewery closure

10/09/2025

Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday issued guidance to consumers following the sudden closure and Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing of Iron Hill Brewery in New Jersey. Sunday advised anyone who purchased unused gift cards with a credit card to dispute the charges through their card company and encouraged consumers to file complaints with the Bureau of Consumer Protection. The attorney general’s office has not yet outlined options for those who paid in cash but said it is monitoring the situation closely. Iron Hill Brewery abruptly shut down all its restaurant locations with little notice.

These Pennsylvania court races are usually sleepy. This year, they're drawing millions in spending.

10/10/2025

Three Pennsylvania Supreme Court justices, Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty, and David Wecht, all backed by Democrats, are on the ballot next month in retention elections that could determine the future direction of the state’s highest court. The race, normally a low-profile affair, has drawn heavy spending and national attention as Democrats fight to preserve their 5-2 majority and Republicans push back against what they view as an activist court that has repeatedly advanced liberal rulings on abortion, redistricting, and election law. Gov. Josh Shapiro and national Democrats are campaigning for voters to keep the justices, while Republican groups such as the Republican State Leadership Committee and organizations tied to businessman Jeffrey Yass are urging “no” votes to restore balance to the court. Critics of the current majority argue that the court has too often legislated from the bench and ignored constitutional limits. With millions already spent and more to come before Election Day, the outcome will test whether Pennsylvania voters are ready to rein in the court and demand more judicial restraint.
