As a member of the Pittsburgh Regional Transit, I’ve been an outspoken advocate against reductions in service and increases in fares. That’s why I’m thrilled to share that the devastating public transit cuts that were set to hit riders across our region have been reversed!

This is a huge win for working families, students, and seniors who rely on transit every day to get to work, school, and medical appointments. However, this is a short-term fix.

We still have lots of work to do. We need long-term statewide mass transit funding because transit isn’t optional — it’s essential. Cutting service would have left thousands of Pennsylvanians stranded, especially those who have no other way to get where they need to go.

We can’t stop here. Without permanent, reliable funding, these same cuts could come back next year — and we can’t let that happen. Help me keep fighting for strong, reliable public transit by chipping in a donation of any amount.
