If you're not in front of our Saturday email, you're behind.
Dear Jack,
Mississippi has had some impressive results recently – and I’m not just talking about football.
Our state has seen more economic growth in the past five years than in the previous fifteen years combined.
Last year, Mississippi household income rose rapidly. In fact, our state saw the second fastest increase in household income of any state in the Union.
If that wasn’t good enough, we have seen over $40 BILLION private outside investment pouring into our state since 2020.
Not all that long ago the Mississippi model was all about asking for federal handouts in Washington DC. Today, there’s private capital coming in, invested by businesses and entrepreneurs.
There was a time when Mississippi has seen as a laggard. Today, our state is seen as a policy leader. In 2013, the Literacy-Based Promotion Act began to raise reading standards. In 2021, a law was passed that has helped de-regulate the labor market.
Then in 2022 came flat tax reform, followed by school funding reform and then this year a law to eliminate the income tax. Throughout that time, we have applied pragmatic policies to keep energy costs low.
At MCPP, we want to not only celebrate pro-growth policies. We want to celebrate those state leaders, lawmakers and partner organizations that made it happen. That’s what we will be doing this Thursday evening at our Gala to “Celebrate Mississippi Success”!
Rich Lowry, Editor of the National Review, will be our keynote speaker. Governor Tate Reeves will be on stage talking about Mississippi’s success story.
Pro-growth policies have elevated our state, and there are still many more pro-growth polices we need to implement. But this week we will be celebrating what has been achieved – and celebrating those that have helped make it happen!
Have a wonderful weekend!
