Email from 40 Days for Life Just another day at Planned Parenthood John, The abortion debate shouldn't pit women against their babies. Life is good for both mother and child. And abortion hurts them both. Kristin in Washington, D.C., encountered a woman leaving Planned Parenthood. She had recently had an abortion, regretted it, and returned to ask the nurse why she hadn't been warned about how awful it would be. "She described this abortion as the worst experience of her life," Kristin reported. And that's not all. When the woman complained to the nurse about her abortion experience, the nurse admitted that she regretted her own abortion! Sidewalk counselors shared information on post-abortion healing with the woman and prayed with her. "With tears and hugs, we parted ways with our new friend," Kristin said. These powerful, healing conversations only happen when you show up. So Mike directed her to the local pregnancy help center for a free ultrasound, empowering her to choose life! "This is a baby who may have been aborted if Mike had not been there," said Kathy. "The young woman said she was so happy to find out about the pregnancy center. Praise God! A baby saved!" San Diego, California As Pamela stood vigil, a woman stopped to talk and to share how she was nearly aborted. "Her father had pressured her mother to abort years ago," Pamela explained. "The mother did not want to have an abortion. Fortunately, there was a woman praying outside of the abortion facility." The close brush with abortion led the grateful woman to talk with vigil participants for an extended period of time. "If it hadn't been for that woman, I might not be here today," she told them. And Jesus went with them, but when he was only a short distance from the house, the centurion sent friends to tell him, "Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof. Therefore, I did not consider myself worthy to come to you; but say the word and let my servant be healed." --Luke 7:6-7 Dear Lord, I surrender my fear to your loving care. Give mothers and fathers the courage to invite you into their lives in good times and bad, and grant them the faith to place their children in your hands. Lead them to doctors who will give their children the very best chance to live. Amen.
