The grim reality of factory farms. Let's shut them down.

Octopuses are extraordinary animals, even building underwater “cities.” Trapping them in tanks is torture.

We’re taking this fight to Brussels, to the doorstep of the European Parliament — but we need as many signatures as possible.

Tell the EU: Ban octopus factory farms.

John,

Seafood corporations want to turn Europe into a testing ground for octopus factory farms, locking these intelligent animals in tiny tanks where suffering is so extreme they turn to cannibalism.

And right now, nothing stands in their way, as there’s no EU law to stop them. But together, we can change that.

Our coalition has a unique opportunity to bring your voice directly to EU decision-makers at a high-level policymaker event in Brussels. Together with scientists and animal welfare experts, we’ll make sure lawmakers confront the cruelty of octopus farming — and push them to act on an EU-wide ban before it’s too late.

The clock is ticking. Once the first farm opens, countless octopuses will be trapped in a cycle of suffering. We need thousands of us backing this call right now.

Add your name to call on the European Parliament to ban octopus farming

Momentum is already building and on our side. Polling shows that a majority of Europeans, including people in Spain where the industry is being pushed, support an EU-wide ban on octopus factory farms. Now, lawmakers need to see that citizens want them to act.

Octopuses are among the smartest animals on Earth — even forming underwater “cities” where they live and interact with one another. Scientists warn that locking such complex, social beings in barren tanks would be cruel and inhumane.

Once this industry starts, it will be much harder to stop. That’s why we must act now. Every signature piles pressure on Parliament, and if enough of us speak out together, we can create an outcry so powerful lawmakers will have no choice but to listen.

Sign now to protect octopuses and stop this cruel industry before it spreads.

We know this strategy works, as we have done it before — winning a historic ban on octopus farming in California. Now it’s Europe’s turn to lead the way and set a global precedent to save octopuses from this cruelty.
