No zip code is immune from hunger. Jobs have been cut. Workers (and their families) have been furloughed. Many dealt with their first missed paycheck this week.

The basics are harder to provide right now. And every grocery list is now a negotiation.

With so many affected families in our region, I hope I can count on your support this season. Our Fall Food Drive has started, and we need your help <[link removed]>. Whether it’s donating perishable or non-perishable items, shopping online at our store, or sending cash, your help is needed now.

John, any time our region faces a crisis, I am reminded just how much our community cares for one another.

Every time I see a volunteer arranging new food donations on the shelves. When a Girl Scout troop organizes a drive for toiletries for our shelter guests. When I receive a phone call from a concerned community member asking us what they can do in this moment. I think this giving spirit, this care for others, is baked into our community’s DNA, and I am lucky enough to witness it on a daily basis.

And right now, our neighbors need us again.

Here are a few ways you can contribute :

1) Gather your colleagues and/or friends in your neighborhood and host your own food drive. Here is a list of suggested items and drop-off information <[link removed]>.

2) Already started collecting? Amazing! Please share on social media to inspire others to do the same.

3) Shop online at our “ Grocery Store <[link removed]>”. Everything will be shipped directly to us.

4) Don’t like shopping online or in-store? We get it. Donate online and your gift will purchase gift cards for fresh produce and proteins at local stores <[link removed]>.

With your help, we’ll get food to those who need it most.

With gratitude,
