White River Bridge reopens; Route 915 resumes normal route October 20
King County Metro’s DART Route 915 will resume its normal weekday route on Monday, October 20. During the repairs of the White River Bridge, Metro introduced additional bus stops closer to the nearby pedestrian-only Foothills Trail Bridge. The White River Bridge reopened on Friday, October 17.
“King County recognized the impacts of this bridge closure and we took action to provide this special extended service since late August to help residents on both sides of the river better navigate the challenges and get where they needed to go,” King County Executive Shannon Braddock said. “We’re pleased that the White River Bridge is reopening and are grateful for the collaboration with our partners at the local and state levels.”
“I greatly appreciate King County Metro going above and beyond to assist residents affected by the White River Bridge closure,” said King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn, who represents Enumclaw. “This was one of many examples throughout the closure demonstrating that our communities benefit when local governments and agencies work together and stay focused on delivering results.”
Metro is communicating the updates to riders via bus operators, e-mail and text alerts, media outreach, signs at bus stops and onboard, social media and its website.
Relatedly, the last day of service for Pierce County Transit’s Buckley Connector is also Friday, October 17. This shuttle played a similar temporary role on the southern side of the Foothills Trail Bridge.
