As this Republican shutdown prolongs, more and more Americans will start to feel the impacts – from delayed air travel to closed National Parks and federal agencies being emptied out by furloughed workforces. 44,360 people in my district will lose healthcare coverage and approximately 39,000 more will see their healthcare costs soar if Republicans let ACA tax credits expire. That’s why I’ve been fighting to protect healthcare for all Americans during this Republican shutdown.

This week, I joined my Congressional Hispanic Caucus colleagues and the Arizona delegation to call upon Speaker Johnson to stop his delaying tactics and seat Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva. The American people deserve fair representation and the final vote to release the Epstein files. It’s time to swear her in now.

During LGBTQI+ History Month, we recognize the trailblazing impact, barriers broken, and progress made across our nation in the LGBTQI+ community. May we continue to gain inspiration and courage from their histories.
