This week, Kansas Republicans descended on Washington, D.C., to get their marching orders from President Trump in his ongoing attempt to pressure GOP lawmakers into gerrymandering their congressional maps.

The White House is counting on them to be the latest batch of Republicans to flout the will of the people and kowtow to Trump’s redistricting power grab. It wasn’t that long ago in 2022 that Kansas lawmakers, including Republican Senate President Ty Masterson, promised not to split up the state’s Third Congressional District, which is represented by Kansas’s only Democrat, Sharice Davids.

Flash forward to this week: Kansas Republicans are jetting off to Washington and planning to spend nearly half a million taxpayer dollars without any public input for a special legislative session to pass a map that would remove the state’s only Democrat from office.

It couldn’t be more brazen: Republicans are afraid of voters and are trying to silence them to hold on to power. And so voters must fight back.

Send a clear message to Kansas lawmakers and every Republican politician going along with Trump’s power grab through egregious mid-decade gerrymanders by building our pro-democracy movement today. Your donation to the NDRC will allow us to fight back against these attacks on democracy in every state where they crop up: [[link removed]]

Trump summoning Kansas politicians to the White House is just the latest example of his brazen campaign of bribing and extorting Republicans to do his bidding.

-Last week, Vice President J.D. Vance made another desperate, taxpayer-funded trip to Indiana to pressure politicians there to pass their own extreme gerrymander.

-Indiana’s governor revealed that if the state refuses to gerrymander, there could be “consequences” from the Trump administration, potentially even withholding federal funding.

-And in North Carolina, it was reported that a top Republican state senator planned to accept an endorsement from Trump in exchange for redrawing congressional maps and falling in line with the White House’s gerrymandering scheme. There’s a term for that kind of deal: It’s called a bribe.

We see this for what it is: An effort to silence voters and dismantle democracy by any means necessary to keep a hold on the U.S. House majority. But Americans across the country are refusing to roll over. More voters are joining this movement, to ensure Trump and Republicans can’t steal the midterms outright.

You can power the movement to stop this Republican power grab to cheat in the 2026 midterm elections. Rush in your donation to fight back in Kansas, Indiana, and in states across the country: [[link removed]]

Together, we can be stronger and louder than those seeking to silence us.
