Before I ever thought about running for office, I was a single mom living paycheck to paycheck.
Balancing work and parenting was not easy. There were times I didn’t know how we would make ends meet. Thankfully, programs like SNAP and Medicaid were there for us when we needed them.
But Donald Trump and Republicans are gutting them, along with other vital lifelines, making it even harder for working families to build a better life.
Like many New Mexicans, I know what it’s like to struggle — and I know what it takes to get back up and keep going. My experience as a working single mom fortified my resolve to build a better future for my child and every family fighting an uphill battle in our state and across the country.
From driving through New Mexico registering voters in rural towns to becoming one of the first Native women ever elected to Congress, every step of my journey has been possible because people like you believed in me. I’ll never stop fighting for our communities because I know that it takes a village — in life, and in politics.
Our campaign is fueled by grassroots donors who care about protecting our lands, uplifting working families, and making sure every voice is heard. That’s why I’m asking: will you chip in $5 to help us keep building a campaign powered by people, not special interests?
Thank you for believing in me. With your grassroots support, we’re showing that anyone — including a single working mom with big dreams for New Mexico — can go up against billionaire politics and win.
Be fierce,
Deb
