In tough times, a small gesture can make a difference, so I decided to hand out coffee to folks heading into work at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS).

Our shipyard workers are the backbone of our national defense. They show up every day to keep our fleet ready. They shouldn’t have to worry about making ends meet while doing their jobs during the shutdown. And they should not have to work without pay – ever.

I’m fighting to reopen the government, protect our healthcare, and make sure our shipyard workers – and ALL of us – get the pay and respect we’ve earned.
