John, we need to talk about what’s going down in Chicago.
Trump’s ICE agents are completely out of control. In LA, ICE stalked and kidnapped workers based on their race. In Chicago, they invaded an apartment building with military-style weapons. Now, a woman has been shot for protesting their illegal and corrupt actions.
We’ve seen this kind of state violence before, and every time, young people have risen to meet it.
As part of Trump’s Operation Midway Blitz, ICE agents have carried out military-style raids on a South Shore apartment building, breaking down doors, zip-tying children, and dragging families into the night.
They call it law enforcement. We call it what it is: occupation.
March For Our Lives was born from the understanding that violence is bigger than bullets. It’s any system that uses fear and force to keep people powerless, and we will fight back any and all forms of gun violence, including what ICE agents are doing in Chicago.
That’s why we’re standing with immigrant youth, community defenders, and local organizers in saying loud and clear: ICE has no place in our neighborhoods, in our schools, or in our future.
When they send helicopters, we send people power.
When they send troops, we send youth organizers.
When they bring fear, we bring each other.
This is our generation’s fight for freedom, and we won’t back down.
