In a democracy, voters choose their representatives. Period.

This principle is so simple that we shouldn’t have to think about it. But in Texas, thanks to an extreme partisan gerrymander, some votes count more than others.

In the 2018 election, the Texas GOP received 53% of votes and Democrats received 47%. Yet, thanks to these gerrymandered districts, Republicans won 63% of Texas’ congressional seats. Texans deserve a fair system that treats every vote equally.
