Dear Friend,

In this week's roundup: Day 17 of the Democrat-led government shutdown. That and more – remember to follow my Facebook page by clicking here and my Twitter page by clicking here to stay up-to-date throughout the week!

DEMOCRATS HAVE NOW KEPT THE GOVERNMENT SHUT DOWN FOR 17 DAYS

This may seem repetitive, but it has now been 17 days since Democrats shut the government down because they won't budge on giving free healthcare to illegal immigrants or adding another $1.5 trillion to our $37-trillion debt.

Because of their partisan antics, our farmers are being negatively impacted during harvest. FSA offices are closed, farmers can't access farm loans or conservation dollars, and market data is not being reported.

Once Democrats get serious and reopen the government, we can have real discussions on policy, including healthcare. What frustrates me is that this Democrat-led shutdown is preventing Congress from passing a Farm Bill and advancing other important wins for Iowans and the American people.

I voted for the clean, no-strings-attached funding bill back in September so that we could continue the normal appropriations process and cut wasteful spending from the federal budget.

Unfortunately, it seems that the Democrats are only interested in playing politics than actually working for Iowans and Americans everywhere.

So long as the Democrats keep the government shut down, I will continue to refuse my paycheck and focus on my work for Iowa.

Feenstra: Democrats to blame for continuing budget impasse

(Washington) -- Iowa Congressman Randy Feenstra says Republicans are maintaining the status quo as the federal government shutdown continues.

PRESIDENT TRUMP IS MAKING SURE THAT OUR TROOPS ARE PAID DURING THIS DEMOCRAT SHUTDOWN

I'm so grateful to President Trump for making sure that our troops are paid during this Democrat shutdown.

The bill Republicans passed in September paid our troops but Democrats wouldn’t support it.

President Trump and Republicans will always stand with our men and women in uniform.

TALKING ABOUT THE ONGOING SHUTDOWN AND PRESIDENT TRUMP'S TRADE WINS

Yesterday, I was on Fox News Radio to talk about the ongoing Democrat shutdown and President Trump’s strong trade deals for Iowa farmers.

We also talked about President Trump’s historic peace agreement in the Middle East.

PRESIDENT TRUMP OFFICIALLY SIGNS HISTORIC MIDDLE EAST PEACE DEAL

This week, President Trump officially signed the peace deal that he negotiated in the Middle East. This historic agreement will save lives and promote security in the region.

He also secured the release of all remaining living hostages held by Hamas - reuniting families after two years of agony, heartbreak, and pain.

President Trump continues to deliver peace through strength.

CHATTING WITH SCOTT JENNINGS

Yesterday, I also had the chance to chat with Scott Jennings.

We covered a wide range of topics from President Trump's strong support for Iowa farmers to his work to fight crime in our cities.

ONE LAST THING: HOSTING A TELEPHONE TOWN HALL WITH MORE THAN 7,500 IOWANS

Last night, I held a telephone town hall with more than 7,500 Iowans answering questions and providing an update on the ongoing shutdown caused by the Democrats.

Like I noted during the town hall, delivering exceptional constituent service is a top priority for me and exactly what Iowans deserve.

Since 2021, I’m glad to say that our office has returned more than $14.5 million to Iowa taxpayers and delivered for our communities. We reopened post offices in Rock Valley, Storm Lake, and Charter Oak; secured millions for schools in Spencer and Rock Valley for flood recovery; obtained medals for Iowa veterans; and held the IRS accountable to Iowa taxpayers.

From getting Social Security checks to getting answers from the VA, our office is ready and able to help Iowans navigate the federal government.

MY WEEKLY COLUMN: PREVENTING THE LARGEST TAX INCREASE IN U.S. HISTORY

If Democrats had succeeded and President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts were not passed on July 4th this year, families, farmers, and small businesses would have faced the largest tax increase in U.S. history.

Thankfully, Republicans in Congress and President Trump worked to not only extend the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act but also make the most important provisions even stronger and permanent.

President Trump’s tax cuts are pro-growth, pro-family, and pro-worker. Our economy will grow tremendously, manufacturing will be strengthened, and good jobs will be created.
