New Dems Present Episode 20 of the Fly-In: “Senate Layover” with Senators Gary Peters & Alex Padilla

In Episode 20, “Senate Layover” – Congressman Greg Landsman (OH-01) took the podcast on the road to meet with Democratic Senators Gary Peters (D-MI) and Alex Padilla (D-CA) and hear their perspective on the government shutdown, now entering its fourth week.
Landsman and Senator Peters discuss the importance of protecting the Affordable Care Act and extending premium tax credits to keep healthcare costs low for the American people, and play a game of True or False about the shutdown and the Trump Administration’s recent activity.
Then Landsman meets with Senator Padilla to talk through the difference between the House and Senate approaches to the shutdown, and whether Speaker Johnson will end the House Republican vacation to make a shutdown-ending deal. Senator Padilla also plays a game of “Who Said It?” with quotes about the shutdown and threats to healthcare.
