Friend,
Let me ask you a question: How long could you go without a paycheck?
Most Americans live paycheck to paycheck, and as we enter Week 3 of this government shutdown, thousands of Coloradans are now missing their first paycheck. Families are worried about paying rent, affording groceries, or even buying Halloween costumes for their kids.
All because Republicans like Donald Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson refuse to do their jobs and fund the government.
In past shutdowns, Congress acted quickly to make sure our service members were still paid. This time, legislation to protect their paychecks is sitting in committee… and Speaker Johnson has already ruled out bringing it to the floor for a vote.
It’s cruel, it’s vindictive, and it’s exactly why we need strong, principled leaders at the federal level. People who will put their communities first instead of falling in line with heartless MAGA enforcers.
Folks, I’m running because I believe public service is about helping people, period.
The good news? Here in Colorado, I know we’ll keep showing what real leadership looks like. Communities are already coming together to look out for one another, to make sure that we're all able to buy the food and the clothes and the diapers and the formula and the pet food that we need.
Colorado families deserve leaders who will fight for their paychecks, their safety, and their dignity. If you believe that too, I’m asking you to chip in to my grassroots campaign today.
