Drawing electoral maps is one of the most powerful tools in politics, and the GOP is using that power to rig districts before the 2026 midterms and 2030 redistricting cycle:

→ In Texas, Republican lawmakers recently passed new congressional maps that handed them five additional GOP seats. 

→ Now, the same playbook is unfolding in North Carolina, where Republican legislators are moving quickly to gerrymander their maps. 

These anti-democratic moves are part of a coordinated effort — backed by Donald Trump — to lock in Republican control of Congress, and it’s happening in the states.

That’s why our work at Sister District is so important. Together, we can organize to defeat Republican lawmakers behind these attacks on our democracy — and build the power we need to protect it in 2026 and beyond. 

We’re targeting swing states across the country in 2026 — including North Carolina — and we’re investing early to expand Democratic power, elect strong Democrats who can win tough races, and stop the GOP’s extremist agenda at the source.
