Earlier this week, Stella from Sunrise DC confronted Mitch McConnell, asking if he supported ICE kidnapping people off of the streets. She never got an answer, because Mitch fell, mumbled incoherently, and walked off.

This would almost be sad, if it weren’t so horrible for our country. So many of our country’s politicians are deeply out of touch, because their wealth insulates them from the lives of everyday people, and they cling to that power long past the time they should have retired to make room for the next generation.

As a result, Congress is full of people who will not bear the brunt of the climate crisis. Only one representative in all of Congress is Gen Z. Is it any surprise that the issues important to young people so often go ignored by our government?

That’s why we’re building a youth movement capable of pushing our government to actually take action on the issues that matter most to young people.
