It looks like Kim Reynolds wants to play the Grinch this year. 

You may have seen the news, but she called a special election for Senate District 16 on December 30th - right in the middle of the holiday season.

It’s not hard to see what’s going on here - Republicans are hoping that holiday travel, family gatherings, and end-of-year celebrations will make it hard to organize, lower turnout, and allow for them to sneak in one more win before the end of the year. 

But we have news for them: the holidays won’t slow us down. Even at the busiest time of year, the Iowa Senate Democrats are ready to work hard for every vote. And we’ll do so in the holiday spirit.

This will be the Senate Majority Fund's third special election of the year. Thanks to grassroots supporters (like you!), we’ve already flipped two red seats blue. Now we’re ready to protect that progress and keep Republicans from regaining their supermajority in the Iowa Senate.

So while the Grinch (read: Kim Reynolds) tries to steal our festive cheer, we’re getting ready to give her the greatest Christmas gift of all: another Democratic special election win!
