My great-great-grandfather came to America from the belly of a slave ship. He worked the land bound by chains.
Now, his descendant is a sitting United States Congressman and candidate for the United States Senate.
Only in America can you go from slavery to the Senate, and that's why I love this country.
Leftists will tell you that I should HATE America and everything it stands for.
But I say to them: In which other country could my family have lived out the American Dream, from the worst nightmare to living a life that my ancestors could have never imagined?
Only in America.
I'm a proud Black Republican who's unafraid to speak his mind and lead his community.
