John – During the current government shutdown, the ATF furloughed all NFA processors, meaning applications for NFA-regulated firearms were on hold. This prevented law-abiding Americans from accessing the firearms and equipment they need to protect themselves, their loved ones, and their property.

GOA and Congressional allies spent the first 17 days of the shutdown demanding that Acting ATF Director Daniel Driscoll IMMEDIATELY classify NFA processors as “essential.” 

We came out on top, and the ATF is now recalling its NFA examiners to work during the shutdown. They’re expected to return to work on Monday and clear the backlog within 7-10 days.

All of this is because of gun rights activists like you who stood shoulder-to-shoulder with GOA by keeping us on the front lines.
