Take action this Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

MYTH:
Domestic violence is a private matter, and there's nothing anyone outside of the home can do to prevent it.

FACT:
Domestic violence is a preventable public health issue, and everyone can be a part of the solution.

My life and my career have taught me that domestic violence is not a private matter. Yet, too often, survivors and our families face barriers to seeking safety. Dedicated support at every level is crucial to survivors and our families, and access to that support can mean the difference between life and death.

Everyone can take action to show up for survivors this month during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. There is too much at stake to do nothing.

In fact, we have 8 things you can do this month to help prevent domestic violence in your communities.
