John, Vice President JD Vance keeps flip-flopping when it comes to hate speech.
If it’s about him, his party, or anyone else he likes? It's "deranged” [1] and worthy of resignations, getting people fired from their jobs, [2] or even going “straight to hell.” [3]
But if it’s from his side? Then it’s just “what kids do.” [4]
That’s the hypocrisy he revealed after a leaked Young Republicans group chat showed thousands using racial slurs, degrading women, and threatening political violence. One quote that tells you all you need to know: “I love Hitler.” [5]
John, my kid doesn’t love Hitler, my kid loves Bluey.
These messages were not sent by kids. They were sent by grown men with powerful positions – chiefs of staff, party officials, even state lawmakers. Men who want to be in charge of this country and everyone in it.

Let’s be clear, John: political violence and hate speech have no business in our politics, regardless of party. But for JD Vance, that only goes one direction.
It’s not just Vance of course – who can forget when Donald Trump tried to downplay his own on-tape bragging about sexually assaulting women as “locker room talk.”
How can we have a representative democracy when our leaders are making excuses for hate targeting the people they took an oath to represent – or worse, participating in it themselves?
If someone in your workplace or mine said this, they'd likely be fired. These people work in government – probably in positions more influential than yours or mine – but the Vice President of the United States is making excuses for them.
