ASA has led the charge to resume NFA form processing during the shutdown. Working closely over the last two weeks with the White House, Office of Management & Budget, Department of Justice, ATF, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, and Rep. Ben Cline, the ATF’s NFA examiners are returning to work to resume the processing of applications.
This is a major win for law-abiding gun owners and a win for 2A rights amid the shutdown that would not have been possible without ATF’s leadership.
Special thanks to Chairman Jim Jordan for pushing the ball across the goal line for the entire 2A community.
“When our Committee found out that the federal employees responsible for processing suppressor applications were furloughed, we immediately worked with the Trump Administration to ensure our Second Amendment rights were preserved.
We are thankful the Trump Administration took swift action to correct the situation and the processing of applications will immediately resume.”
- Chairman Jim Jordan
