Breaking: Josh Hawley Has Never Heard The Phrase “Mind Your Own Business”
If the last two years taught us anything, it’s that conservatives don’t actually want to just “leave it to the states.” Need more proof? Senator Josh Hawley proposed a bill that would block EVERY insurance exchange plan in EVERY state from covering abortion and gender affirming care for minors. Never mind that some states, if you can imagine it, actually care about their citizens and require insurance plans to cover abortion and gender affirming care. Clearly ol’ Josh doesn’t get enough joy screwing over just the people of Missouri, so now he has to expand his hate campaign to the rest of us. And to that we say: You don’t even go here, loser.

And if you head east out of the Show-Me state, you’ll hit some Kansas-style Hawleyesque derangement! The Sunflower State is looking desperate as hell to undermine abortion access by defending truly embarrassing anti-abortion requirements in court as abortion providers sue to have them removed. What are those requirements the state is so desperate to keep? A 24-hour waiting period to make EXTRA SURE you know what’s best for you, forcing the patient to listen to the fetal heartbeat, doctors being required to ask your reason for an abortion, forced recommendation of the bogus “abortion pill reversal” not backed by peer-reviewed science, and the most important regulation of all—the clinic MUST display documents in a specific font, size, and color.

Lest we all forget: in 2019, the Kansas Supreme Court affirmed the fundamental right to abortion, AND THEN voters doubled down on it when they said ‘fuck no’ to a ballot proposal that would have reversed that decision. Which is exactly why these forced birthers are scrambling to justify why mandating Helvetica size 47 is ESSENTIAL to state interest (that’s heavy sarcasm, in case you didn’t pick up on it). Everyone can see these restrictions exist ONLY to shame and block access. We trust DOCTORS, not losers who weaponize formatting to control people’s bodies.
