We are just less than one week from the 22nd Annual Kahlil Gibran Spirit of Humanity Awards Gala [[link removed]] on Thursday October 23rd, 2025, at the Capital Hilton [[link removed]] Hotel in Washington, DC, and we are looking forward to gathering with you, our community. It is an evening that will showcase what is best in humanity at this time when we need it the most.

At this year's gala, we will honor Arturo Vargas, former Executive Director and current Senior Advisor at NALEO, with the Award for Individual Achievement; the NAACP Legal Defense Fund with the Award for Institutional Excellence, to be accepted by President and Director-Counsel Janai Nelson; and the Special Recognition for Excellence in Journalism to the Journalists of Gaza, to be accepted by world-renowned photojournalist Motaz Azaiza.

We’re also happy to share that award winning journalist and founder of Zeteo, Mehdi Hasan will present the Special Recognition award to the Journalists of Gaza.

It promises to be a special night, and we hope you will join us as we bring together community and allies to honor those who embody the legacy left by the great poet who hailed from Lebanon.
