Friend,
I proudly co-sponsored and voted in favor of the Justice in Policing Act -- but our work is not done.
This bill is a comprehensive piece of legislation that pushes critical changes needed to bring accountability and transparency to police departments. Among other things, it bans chokeholds, bans no-knock search warrants in drug cases, and prevents qualified immunity from serving as a shield to liability.
This legislation moved forward and passed in the House because of a multiracial, multicultural, and cross-generational movement sweeping across our country with calls for change. Now we need to raise our voices to get the Senate to do the same.

This bill takes direct action to increase transparency and accountability in policing.
It’s overdue but no less important to pass now.
Imagine a country where there’s a national police misconduct registry -- so it’s harder for officers like the man who killed Tamir Rice to bounce from force to force. Imagine a country where we don’t put military surplus on the streets, which too often turns communities into war zones.
This is not and must not be a partisan issue. This is about doing right by communities across this country. This is about upholding our values as Americans, fighting for true equality and justice for
all.
If we want the Justice in Policing Act to become the law of the land, we must continue to keep our voices raised and the pressure on the Senate.
Sign the petition: Tell the Senate to pass the Justice in Policing Act.
Please keep the faith, press on, and together we will achieve justice for all.
With love,
Antonio
