Dear John,

People across the political spectrum are recognizing that Question 1 is an attack on Mainers’ voting rights.

Joyce Maker, a longtime Republican lawmaker and community leader in Maine, has come out against Question 1, saying it would “hurt people who use absentee voting.”

We couldn’t agree more. Question 1 is a clear and direct attack from far-right politicians and out-of-state interest groups on Maine’s secure absentee voting system to make it harder to vote.

Election day is quickly approaching, but there’s still time to stand up to this attack. You can join us and many other commonsense Mainers across the political spectrum to support the Save Maine Absentee Voting campaign:

Spread the word about Question 1 at No Kings Events: This Saturday, October 18, thousands of Mainers will attend one of the No Kings events across the state. Question 1 speakers and information tables will be at many of them. Find your local event here.
Canvass to talk with voters about Question 1: The Save Maine Absentee Voting campaign is canvassing across Maine up through election day to talk with voters about voting No on Question 1. You can see their events and sign-up here.
Request your absentee ballot and make a plan to vote: Absentee ballots are available at your town clerk's office. Request yours or vote in-person at your town office today!

If you’ve already canvassed, phone-banked, or pledged to vote No on Question 1, THANK YOU. This work is only possible thanks to your continued support and engagement. Together, we can protect absentee voting for all Mainers.
