Here's one example of his slippery dishonesty. Since he's famously anti-cop he was asked by @marthamaccallum what he would do about the violent maniacs who roam the streets stomping innocent people to death or pushing people in front of subways. He airily claimed the mental illness problem in the city could be solved for "$4000" a year per maniac by referring the maniacs to the Fountain House clubhouse. He has to be kidding. For one thing the cost is more like $8k per person. It's a worthy cause but it's a clubhouse with social workers and vocational classes. It doesn't provide medication, housing, psychiatric residential treatment, padded rooms, straitjackets or whatever it takes to keep us safe from violent psychopaths. Tweet.
