Last week, I reached out about Republican Speaker Mike Johnson’s refusal to swear in newly-elected Democrat Adelita Grijalva. She won the special election to replace her father, who passed away while in office, three weeks ago.

I am disappointed but not surprised to report that he is still refusing to swear her into Congress and give AZ-07 representation – because he knows with her vote, the bipartisan effort to release the Epstein files will pass.

The whole situation is a disgrace, and Mike Johnson is the weakest Speaker in history. Not only is he blocking a duly-elected representative, he is keeping House Republicans out of Washington and letting federal workers and active military go without paychecks during the shutdown.

The American people deserve a functioning government that delivers results.

The American people deserve to have their health care protected.

The Republican Speaker is failing the American people right now.
