We encourage you to watch this moving video showing some of the beautiful moments as the remaining living hostages were reunited with their families.

We also want to share the powerful sentiments that Carole Nuriel, head of ADL's Israel office, wrote to ADL colleagues that day from Hostage Square.

“This is a day that feels like history being written in real time. It is emotional, complex, and overwhelming. There will be joy and reunion, but also deep sorrow as the bodies of those who will not return are brought home. ... Above all, today is a day of hope — the kind that rises from the deepest heartbreak. Hope in a people that, time and again, has chosen compassion over despair, unity over division, and life over darkness.”

What Now? In a more sobering message, ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt writes that “The hostages are home. The fight is far from over.”

On Second 10/7 Anniversary, U.S. Anti-Israel Activists Reaffirm Support for Hamas: Even as talks for a ceasefire in Gaza were underway, U.S. anti-Israel activists nationwide marked the second anniversary of Hamas’ October 7, 2023, terror attack against Israel. They glorified the violence of that day, demonizing Israel and Zionists and engaging in disruptive actions in cities and on college campuses across the country. These actions mirrored similar activities last year to mark the first anniversary of the attack and demonstrate the solidification of extreme rhetoric and tactics within the movement over the past two years. These developments are also an indication that such activities
and rhetoric are unlikely to abate even now that the ceasefire plan has been rolled out.

The Pray Safe Act: Synagogues and other houses of worship continue to face growing security threats. Many congregations want to strengthen their security but lack the tools, capacity or clear guidance to do so. That’s why ADL worked closely with Reps. Grace Meng and Maria Salazar and Sens. Maggie Hassan and Ron Johnson to reintroduce the Pray Safe Act. This bipartisan bill addresses these challenges by creating a federal clearinghouse within the Department of Homeland Security to make security resources more accessible by providing best practices, grant information, training and direct support to faith-based and nonprofit organizations working to protect their communities. ADL has
been a driving force in building an interfaith coalition behind this legislation.

👉 TAKE ACTION: Help us strengthen this effort — urge your Members of Congress to cosponsor the Pray Safe Act.

There’s Power in Partnership: ADL and the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), the largest Latino Christian organization (affiliated with over 42,000 churches in the U.S.) have announced a historic new partnership aimed at combating antisemitism and anti-Zionism, and deepening Latino-Jewish solidarity across communities of faith. As Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, President of the NHCLC, exclaimed, “Now more than ever, it is time for Hispanic evangelicals to stand arm-in-arm with our Jewish brothers and sisters.”

@ADL

2 years after 10/7, Hamas hasn’t changed. It remains a violent, murderous terrorist group that brutalizes Palestinians who resist it. The international community must keep its commitment to ensure Hamas is fully disarmed and plays no role in Gaza’s future.

Once again, one of the largest teachers unions in the US is sending a harmful message to Jewish teachers and students alike. “Did the NEA forget something? The union sent its members an article featuring a world map that erased Israel. This is not a simple oversight, but a shocking act that denies both history and present reality. Educators should be teaching facts, not rewriting them.”
