The Trump-Pence birth control rules allow employers to take away birth control coverage.

John,

The Supreme Court just sided with the Trump administration, approving its rules that take away birth control coverage. This means virtually any employer or university can deny birth control coverage to employees and students across the country.

This Supreme Court decision is devastating. Without this critical coverage, people will be left on their own to find and pay for birth control. Forced to pay out-of-pocket for birth control, people will switch to less effective methods, stop paying for other necessities, or simply stop using birth control altogether.

This decision would be devastating at any time, but it’s especially dangerous in the midst of a pandemic and economic crisis. Right now, people need more health care, not less. This decision will disproportionately harm low-wage workers and people of color—those who are already hurting the most right now.

But we’re not done fighting. The Supreme Court’s decision leaves the door open for lower courts to invalidate the Trump rules once and for all. We already have a case in the lower courts challenging these rules, and at the same time, we’re working with policymakers to protect birth control access.

Whether it’s in the courts or in the halls of Congress, we won’t stop until everyone has birth control coverage, no matter where they work or go to school. Will you help us as we continue this fight?

Any attempt to take away birth control coverage is unacceptable. This decision is not the end. Please strengthen our fight against discrimination in health care with a donation today.

Thank you.
