Full transparency: Yes, this is a fundraising email. At the end of it, we’re going to ask you to chip in a few bucks to make sure Orange County doesn’t fall to Donald Trump.

But first, we want to pull back the curtain a little bit and let you in on a campaign secret: The further we’re out from Election Day, the more your donation matters.

We know that sounds a little… backwards. But it’s the truth.

See, when we build early grassroots momentum out of the gate, it gives us an enormous amount of flexibility as a campaign. Early support allows us to run ads, hire staff, and hold events at the most opportune moments before the final sprint.

But without it, we have to sit on our hands until the last few weeks, waiting anxiously for a surge of support. Frankly, it introduces a lot of risk — risk we can’t afford in a district that could determine the House majority.

All of that is to say, a $10 donation at this point in the election means a whole lot more than a $100 donation on Election Day.

So, now that you know a little more about how we scale our operations and build a winning campaign, can you chip in $10 or whatever you’re able? Remember: We NEED to win here if Democrats are going to take back the House!
