John,
Earlier this week, Politico reported on thousands of leaked messages from Republicans across the country, including multiple high-ranking members of the New York State Young Republicans. These messages contained several racist, antisemitic, and homophobic slurs and comments.
While they’ve rightfully faced criticism and condemnation from folks on both sides of the aisle, Vice President JD Vance has come to their defense.

Here’s the thing: despite what Vance says, these weren’t just “kids.” These were grown adults – some almost in their 40s – who were already in leadership positions or on their way to one. Elise Stefanik called them the “backbone” of their party. My Republican opponent, Peter Oberacker, nearly hired one of them to be his campaign manager.
They knew exactly what they were saying and the weight that these words carried, and they shouldn’t get a pass just because they’re a member of Vance’s party.
Upstate New Yorkers deserve better than these excuses and political games. That’s why I decided to run for Congress in the first place. There’s so much at stake right now, and we need strong leaders who won’t cave to partisan politics and special interests.
If you agree, I need you with me in this fight. Will you contribute $5 or more today to help me stay in Congress and stand against extremism?

With gratitude & high hopes,
Josh
