In honor of Dictionary Day, I’d like to school Iowa’s partisan insiders on a couple of key vocabulary words, so hang in there with me:

Public (adjective): of or concerning the people as a whole

Service (noun): the action of helping or doing work for someone

Public Service (noun): a service rendered in the public interest

Somewhere along the way, partisan insiders have either forgotten or chosen to ignore their duty to Iowa families.

I’m running for governor because Iowans deserve better, and I truly believe in my heart that I’m the best candidate to move our state forward. If you agree, will you please chip in $25 to elect a governor who will never forget the meaning of public service?

Grassroots (adjective): the common or ordinary people, especially as contrasted with the leadership or elite of a political party.
