It’s time to have a real conversation with our loved ones – the ones who might have shared Emily Schrader clips or fake accounts attacking NIAC a couple years back.
The truth has been exposed. Haaretz [[link removed]] and Citizen Lab [[link removed]] have confirmed what many of us long suspected: Israel’s government has been running coordinated disinformation operations against Iranians and Iranian Americans. They’ve used bots, sock puppet accounts, paid influencers, and AI videos to divide our community, boost the son of the Shah [[link removed]] , and manufacture consent for war.

This disinformation war has been waged against NIAC and so many in our community who have dared to oppose war on Iran or even question broad sanctions. The goal? To convince the majority of Iranian Americans who support peace and organic change that they are the minority, to divide Iranian Americans and make it toxic to voice your opinion, and to turn our community into yet another appendage of the Israel lobby pushing for a disastrous war on Iran.
Our community deserves better. For years, our mission has been to encourage Iranian Americans to be active participants in civic life and democracy. But this disinformation campaign, led by Israel and amplified by key voices, sought to return our community to the old mentality – that you should stay out of politics and keep your head down if you have views that challenge those in power.
It’s time to wake up – and help others do the same.
