Periods do not conveniently stop while navigating the life-threatening dangers of emergencies — like in Sudan, where devastating violence, famine, and now new, deadly floods have driven nearly 10 million people from their homes.
That’s why UNFPA delivers Dignity Kits so that even in the most dangerous, isolated, and complex crises, women and girls can manage their periods and live with dignity.
The humanitarian crisis in Sudan is the world’s largest: An estimated 726,500 pregnant women urgently need emergency assistance. Sudan faces its worst recorded food insecurity, with 24.6 million people experiencing acute hunger and 2 million at risk of famine . In some regions, up to 80% of health facilities are non-functional, leaving women without access to safe delivery services, emergency obstetric care, medical support, violence response services, or safe shelter.
Your gift today can provide essential reproductive health services and Dignity Kits, which include menstrual pads, underwear, and soap, laundry detergent, and other essential menstrual supplies, to women and girls in need in Sudan and in crises around the world. [[link removed]?]

One Dignity Kit recipient in Sudan was 12-year-old Nabaa . She got her first period at a displacement camp.
“I was so scared and confused, ” she said. “I lost my mother years ago, and I couldn’t talk to my father about this.”
But after her dad noticed blood on her clothes, he brought Nabaa to UNFPA’s mobile health team. “They gave me this bag with sanitary napkins and clothes, and taught me how to use them,” she said. “They guided me."

Displaced Sudanese women and girls with Dignity Kits including clothing and essential hygiene items to support their dignity, health, and overall well-being.
In August alone, UNFPA has provided 13,000 Dignity Kits across Sudan to women and girls facing compounding humanitarian crises. But with Sudan’s rainy season flooding homes and conflict displacing more people, more support is urgently needed. Today, we’re turning to you:
Will you deliver care in the form of Dignity Kits to women and girls in Sudan, and wherever women and girls need it? [[link removed]?]
