** Thanks but no tanks!
------------------------------------------------------------
Dear John,
Animals in aquariums need your help!
Did you know that the vast majority of animals in aquariums have been taken from the wild?
As most species of fish will not breed in captivity they are ripped from their wild homes to fill aquarium tanks, to make sure there is a display for visitors.
Did you know that fish, turtles, rays and other animals all express stereotypic behaviours in captivity, which is a sign of mental distress?
Or that mortality rates of animals in aquariums are exceptionally high?
Animals that are held captive in aquariums undergo extreme suffering in the name of human entertainment.
Yet many people still do not know this.
That is why I am calling on you to join our online Aquarium Week of Action on 20th - 26th July!
STAND UP FOR SEA ANIMALS! ([link removed])
With Covid-19 restrictions still in place, we will not be asking people to take to the streets to protest. However there are plenty of other ways you can help spread the world for sea animals! Right from your home.
Check out our list of actions and make sure you are ready to join in that week.

1. Take our pledge never to visit an aquarium. Show the world that exploiting wild animals for entertainment is wrong!
2. Download our poster and take a selfie with it to share on social media
3. Share our videos and facts about sea animals that we will post during the week on our social media pages:

Animals in aquariums are more than just objects to look at behind the glass. Each one of them is an individual who can think, feel and experience. They need us to aid their struggle for freedom so I really hope you will join us from 20th!
Thank you.
For the animals,
Sam Threadgill
Director
P.S. With aquariums starting to open back up, now is a crucial time to spread the word about the suffering of the animals they hold captive. Get active during our Aquarium Week of Action on 20th - 26th! Thank you ([link removed])
