Alaska HB147 – Practice Of Naturopathy

MAHA's Position: 👎 Vote no!

Bill Summary: 

Alaska House Bill 147 lets naturopaths temporarily prescribe drugs after passing a pharmacology exam and training under a physician for a year. Full permits depend on physician approval. They must complete 60 training hours biennially, including 20 on drug use. The bill bans prescribing controlled substances or cancer drugs without authorization, with violations leading to fines, license loss, or misdemeanor charges.

Why This Matters: 

Naturopathic doctors are trying to heal outside the Big Pharma controlled allopathic model and this bill makes it more difficult to do so.

MAHA's Position: 👍 Vote yes!

Bill Summary: 

Arkansas Senate Bill 117 creates the Naturopathic Physician Practice Act, establishing licensing and oversight for naturopathic physicians. It requires medical school graduation, exams, and liability insurance. Licensed naturopaths may perform exams, prescribe limited drugs, administer injections, and do minor procedures but are barred from major surgeries or cancer treatment. An advisory committee will aid the State Medical Board in enforcing standards and protecting patient safety.

Arkansas Senate Bill 117 supports the MAHA Movement by expanding access to regulated naturopathic medicine, promoting holistic, patient-centered healthcare.
