Terri Sewell is the proud product of Alabama’s rural Black Belt and has spent her life fighting for Alabama communities. From her time as one of the only black public finance lawyers in Alabama, when she delivered financing for new campus facilities at Alabama State University, Tuskegee University, and Stillman College, to her work as Congresswoman for Alabama’s 7th District, Terri Sewell has delivered results every step of the way. Friends,
Earlier this week, the Supreme Court heard arguments in a case that would eliminate the rights of Black voters in Alabama and throughout the South. Let me be very clear: if the Supreme Court strikes down Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, Alabama Republicans will target majority-minority congressional districts like Alabama’s 7th and 2nd Districts.
Republicans are celebrating this latest attack on the rights of minority voters — after all, they see suppressing Black votes as central to protecting their House majority next year.
We need your help to fight back — can you please chip in $10 today to help us meet our $12,133 mid-month fundraising goal?

The Supreme Court’s expected dismantling of the Voting Rights Act is deeply disturbing — but sadly, it’s what we’ve come to expect from the MAGA cronies in charge.
Republican failures to govern with a narrow majority don’t give them license to deny representation to Black voters. It’s anti-democratic, and we can’t let them get away with it — if you’re with me, can you please chip in any amount to help my team meet our mid-month fundraising goal?
Thanks for standing with me,
Terri Sewell
