It’s Do or Die for Barred Owls
You know we’ve been leading the charge to stop one of the most extreme and premeditated wildlife control assaults on a native species in U.S. history — the federal government’s proposal to shoot more than 450,000 barred owls across California and the Pacific Northwest.
The government is moving forward with a reckless plan that is:
* Inhumane – Contract shooters will use recorded barred owl hoots to lure them in and shoot breeding pairs, leaving their owlets orphaned.
* Ineffective – Surviving barred owls will reclaim areas where others of their kind have been shot, rendering the plan entirely ineffectual and a waste of money and life.
* Wasteful – It will cost up to a billion taxpayer dollars over decades.
* Unprecedented – Never has any government planned a kill of birds of prey on this scale. Barred owls have been protected under federal law for more than a century.
That’s why we must act before an army of novice contract shooters invades 14 national parks and 17 national forests to start the killing.
Join me and wildlife experts for a live, one-hour webinar where you’ll learn:
* The backstory of the federal owl-killing plan
* The legislative and legal actions now underway in Congress and the courts
* The fight in the federal courts
* How public pressure can influence key decision-makers and how YOU can help block the kill
Event details:
* Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025
* 8–9 p.m. ET
* Online — Free (link provided after registration)
