I’ll be honest: Even with over a year until the midterm elections, we’re facing unprecedented political headwinds.

- After flipping CA-45 from red to blue by 653 votes, I immediately became a GOP target – and one of the most at-risk incumbents nationwide. That means more attacks, more outside spending, and more challenges in my first re-election race.
- Despite the attention from national Republicans, I’m not backing down from the fight in Washington. I’m taking Speaker Mike Johnson head-on during the government shutdown and demanding that he bring Congress back into session to ensure military families are paid – millions will go without paychecks because of Johnson and the House GOP.
- I’m now facing not one, but three challengers in this race who are clamoring for the backing of the GOP machine. Unlike many running for office, I’m refusing donations from Big Pharma and Big Oil – because I’m beholden to the people I represent, not special interests.
