This race isn’t going to be an easy one. This ad buy is a signal that our opponents will be well-funded and will try to stay up on TV through the spring.
We haven’t elected a back-to-back Democratic governor in Maine in decades.
And the race prognosticator Sabato’s Crystal Ball downgraded this race from “Likely Dem” to “Lean Dem.”
But as Maine’s former Speaker of the House and someone who led Maine’s Department of the Future — I know firsthand how a strong Democratic governor can act as a critical stopgap in the face of the Trump administration’s constant attacks on our democracy.
Now, more than ever, I need you to pitch in.
