Team,

Across Colorado, I hear the same concerns from parents, teachers, mental health professionals, and kids themselves: Kids are facing a mental health crisis, and social media and AI are only making it worse.

As a dad to three incredible daughters who grew up in the digital era, I know how difficult it is for parents to protect their kids online.

That's why I just unveiled my plan to keep Colorado's kids safe online.

If you're short on time and this is as big a priority to you as it is for my campaign, then before I dig in, I hope you'll chip in $5 today.

Coloradans deserve a governor who acknowledges that kids growing up today are facing challenges unlike any in human history – from the echo chambers and addictive algorithms of social media to the effects of COVID-19's isolation to heightened economic and political tensions and more – all of which have combined to compromise our kids' mental health.

So as governor, I plan to pursue and enact the strongest online child-protection policies nationwide.

I'm talking about a statewide cellphone ban in schools; increased parental controls for kids under 13; commonsense guardrails on AI chatbots; limits on designs that hook users for hours on end; stronger age verification; moderation and privacy policies; and above all, giving kids a seat at the table and a voice in the conversation – because we all have a role to play.

It's all part and parcel of my guiding belief: that we all share a responsibility to look out for one another and for the next generation. We have to take this on together.

And if we take bold action together under this plan, I believe that we can make Colorado the best state to grow up as a kid in the digital age – but I first have to earn your support to win this race.

So if you're in a position to contribute today, friend, I'd really appreciate it. Every contribution of $25 or more will help my campaign reach Coloradans of all ages, empower parents and kids alike and build a brighter future where we all can thrive.
