I’m reaching out today not as a politician, but as a retired Lieutenant Colonel, a former prosecutor, and most recently, a National Park Ranger.

I didn't run for this Senate seat because I was bored. I’m certainly not running because I think working in Washington sounds like a ton of fun. I decided to run because what I saw in Washington—and specifically from career politicians like Mike Rounds—is a fundamental betrayal of the integrity and service I swore an oath to defend for 26 years.

Rounds and his D.C. Country Club take South Dakota for granted. They prioritize the party line, the lobbyists, and the corporate PAC money, while our family farms struggle and our veterans fight for basic services. They’ve been shortchanging us for 32 years.

My run as an Independent is the only way to beat that system. And here is the most critical, least-known fact about this race:
