minnesota's favorite color is purple
Prince was born in Minneapolis and spent most of his 57 years in the Twin Cities, building his massive estate and recording studio, Paisley Park, in Chanhassen, about 30 minutes from downtown Minneapolis.
Over his lifetime, he bent norms from genre to grammar and re-defined music culture. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, gave an unforgettable half-time performance at the Super Bowl, and holds the longest residency at the O2 for The Earth Tour: 21 (Sold Out) Nights in London.
He’s often regarded as one of the greatest musicians of all time — winning seven Grammy Awards and an Academy Award for Purple Rain (the movie).

Prince's legacy as an iconic Black artist who championed equality in the entertainment industry is explored in three different tours: a 90 minute Paisley Experience, a 2 hour VIP Experience and a 3 hour Ultimate Experience. Each one includes access to the estate's main floor; permanent collection pieces like costumes, shoes and "Purple Rain" props; several recording studios; a sprawling rehearsal space; and the private NPG Music Club where Prince would often perform for guests.
