On November 4, three Pennsylvania Supreme Court justices who've protected reproductive rights, defended fair elections, and upheld the state ERA face retention votes.
Here's the problem: Their names appear on the back of the ballot. Unless voters know to flip it over, these justices may lose—not because Pennsylvanians reject them, but because they never saw the vote.
This is exactly what the other side and their millions in dark money donors are counting on.
Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty, and David Wecht have been the firewall against abortion bans, voting restrictions, and attacks on equality. Remove them, and Pennsylvania's courts flip for a generation.
The right wing knows most voters won't turn the ballot over. They don't need to win the argument—they just need voters to miss the vote.
