Friend,

Being a dog lover should mean supporting high standards of care for man’s best friend, wherever they are. But right now the American Kennel Club is working to defeat two crucial bills that could make a lifesaving difference for vulnerable puppies and dogs currently suffering in puppy mills. We’re fighting to keep these bills alive so we can help these innocent animals, and we urgently need your support.

We need your immediate support to fight the AKC’s deceptive tactics and get these bills through Congress, and we’re counting on animal advocates like you to chip in now. Please, will you make a donation of $20 or more to Humane World Action Fund, formerly called Humane Society Legislative Fund, now to help pass the Better CARE for Animals Act, the Puppy Protection Act and more lifesaving legislation to protect dogs and all animals from cruelty?

This isn’t the first time the AKC has threatened or blocked policies meant to protect dogs and puppies from abuse and neglect. Since 2008, the organization has fought against more than 500 animal protection bills at the state and federal level, showing that, for the AKC, profits are more important than protecting helpless animals.

We need to use all the tools in our toolbox to not only prevent suffering and abuse at federally regulated breeding facilities, but to be able to intervene earlier in order to save animals' lives. The Better CARE for Animals Act and the Puppy Protection Act will help us get there—but only if we succeed in getting these bills through Congress despite the AKC's well-funded opposition.

With the AKC stubbornly opposing these bills and putting profits ahead of vulnerable dogs’ well-being, we’re counting on your support to take this fight forward.

Please, don’t wait while innocent puppies are suffering neglect, disease and even death: Donate to Humane World Action Fund today and act to end animal cruelty.
