Walnut Creek, California
The campaign team in Walnut Creek is mourning the loss of a volunteer who prayed and witnessed for life in front of Planned Parenthood for more than three decades.
"When Ed saw a need, he filled it," wrote Jodie, the local 40 Days for Life leader. "Especially when it was a need that allowed him to live and model his Christian faith."
Jodie said Ed was in his mid-90s the last time she prayed with him at the 40 Days for Life vigil. He was also a dedicated servant of the poor, a father of nine, and a patriarch with around 70 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
"I need to be out here," Ed once said of his involvement in the vigil.
Jodie hopes his spirit will live on in her volunteers.
"I hope you will join me in honoring Ed's legacy and honoring the call that God gives to each of us," she exhorted her team. "We are each needed out there."
