Dear friend,
We passed another one of those big numbers this month. There are now 1.25 million public Freedom of Information requests on WhatDoTheyKnow.
When we launched the site back in 2008, we had two goals: to make Freedom of Information more accessible to all; and to provide a free public archive of all the information that is released as a result.
We’ve not only progressed these goals, but our users’ requests have had incredible impact, too.
From helping victims of the contaminated blood scandal, facilitating justice for those impacted by the Post Office Horizon scandal, and supporting disability rights campaigners, we’ve proven the ability of FOI to help people fight for what matters to them — and to us all.
That’s why we continue to work on features that move us further forward, like our new Learn pages, designed to help beginners take their first steps into making a request. You can check these out here.
